This month’s newsletter is dedicated to heart awareness.
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the U.S. and is the number one health concern in Dallas County. While multiple factors contribute to heart disease, some of the most common include hypertension, obesity, lack of exercise, smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption. In Dallas County, hypertension is among the most prevalent risk factors.
Beyond its physical impact, heart disease and other chronic conditions can also increase the risk of mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression. At Be Natural Music Therapy and Wellness, we recognize the deep connection between physical and mental well-being. Our programs provide creative outlets for stress relief and emotional expression, supporting heart and mind health together.
Stay tuned for tips and resources to help protect your heart and nurture your well-being!
Take care of your heart!
In a recent study, researchers found that people with lower incomes had more stress-related brain activity, which was linked with greater inflammation in the body.
Those with more inflammation had a higher risk of heart attack and other heart problems over the following years.
This stress-driven inflammation may account for almost a third of the increased risk of heart disease in people with lower incomes.
Prioritize sleep. This is when the body recovers and repairs itself.
Develop a self-care routine.
Self-care is important for both mental and physical health.
Take a deep breath
