Continuing our depression awareness series, November brings attention to several chronic illnesses that appear within various individuals. A person with a chronic illness is at a higher risk of developing depression.
"Depression may develop as a result of anxiety, ongoing stress, or other difficulties that arise from living with a chronic illness"
With November being American Diabetes Month, we can bring attention to the illness and the potential connection to depression. As we refocus our attention to the mental health of a person with diabetes, we don't only focus on their physical state but their mental state as well.
